The Marshall Plan: Best Non-Gay Bars

Bar Cento
1948 W. 25th St., Cleveland

On any weekend night there are 100 Italian wines behind the bar and about as many hot queers drinking, laughing and cruising around it. The Bar Cento crowd is Cleveland’s trendiest group of bar patrons, and the staff is just as hip (it's impossible not to heart the cute host with the square-frame glasses). If beer or liquor suit you better than Barolo, you’re in luck. Top shelf is the only shelf here and a variety of great brews is always on tap. For a change of scenery, walk over to McNulty’s Bier Markt, which shares space with Bar Cento. On the surface it may not seem as queer, but you know what they say happens after the straights get a couple of drinks in them ...

Serving Suggestions: The bartenders are steamy, but so are the pomme frites. Order a table-sized portion and share with your clique. Save the scrumptious, but filling, hand-tossed pizzas for to-go orders.
